This project involved the replacement of the existing pressure reducing valve (PRV) and the main shut-off valve. Due to improper pressure regulation within the home’s plumbing system, it was necessary to replace the pressure reducing valve to restore proper water pressure control.
During the inspection, it was discovered that the connection between the main shut-off valve and the pressure reducing valve was leaking and had previously been wrapped with an unusual type of tape as a temporary fix. Because of this improper repair and to ensure long-term reliability, it was decided to replace both the pressure reducing valve and the main shut-off valve.
The new valves were installed using ProPress connections. Prior to installation, the existing copper pipes were properly cleaned and prepared to ensure secure and reliable fittings. The valves were then professionally secured and connected.
After installation, the system pressure was carefully adjusted and tested. Due to the size of the house and the plumbing system requirements, the pressure was set to 75 PSI to ensure consistent water flow throughout the property. All connections were checked to confirm proper operation and leak-free performance.
